Two troopers succumb to injuries

Two more soldiers, who were wounded in the claymore mine attack at Eratperiyakuluam in Vavuniya last night succumbed to their injuries this morning, said sources at Anuradhapura hospital.

They named the dead soldiers as Lance Corporal Dissanayake and Corporal Pushpakumara.

Meanwhile sources in Vavuniya said that a body suspected to be that of a Liberation Tiger has been recovered in a search operation conducted by the security forces around the place where the claymore mine blast occurred.

The body has been handed over to the hospital mortuary they added.

Police said that in another explosion at the same place, an electricity pylon was damaged.
