Mannar Police give hospital unidentified body

The Mannar police have handed over the body of an unidentified man, who was killed in an attack at Vidaththalthivu in Mannar last night, to the Mannar hospital at around 12.30 p.m. today.

The police said "the LTTE fired at a bunker, belonging to the 51-2 Brigade stationed at Vidaththalthivu, Mannar, last night at around 6.30 p.m. and again at 9.30 p.m.

"The SLA fired back and chased away the intruders. A search conducted in the nearby area at 8:00 am today yielded the body of a dead male."

Acting Mannar District Magistrate, Mr. Feldano, viewed the body today and has ordered a post-mortem to be performed on the body, said sources in Mannar.
