Four SLA soldiers killed in ambush

Four Sri Lanka Army (SLA) soldiers were killed when the Liberation Tigers ambushed a route clearing patrol in the eastern Trincomalee district around 7.15 a.m. this morning army sources said.

The soldiers were ambushed between the SLA camp at Allai and Karambagolla in the Seruvila division, about 60 km. west of Trincomalee town, the sources said. No soldiers were injured in the attack the sources added.

The SLA sources said it is not known if there were any LTTE casualties.

SLA reinforcement rushed to the spot and conducted a search operation the sources said.
