Tigers say arms captured from SLA bus[TamilNet, Thursday, 04 December 1997, 23:59 GMT]The Liberation Tigers confirmed in the Vanni today that they had carried out the ambush on Sri Lankan army bus at Kovil Kulam in Murunkan. They said that they recovered one AK LMG and three T56-2 assault rifles from the Sri Lankan Army in the attack. The Liberation Tigers also said that two Sri Lankan army troops were killed and two more wounded in an attack in Kopay the early hours of November 28. They said two of their fighters, Major Raavanan (Mahathevan Umasankar, Jaffna) and Captain Uyiravan (Selvanayakam Thavanesan, Jaffna) were killed in the clash.
