Patients moved across front line

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) today escorted four seriously ill patients by fishing boat from the Vanni region held by the Liberation Tigers, via Anthoniyarpuram to Mannar held by the Sri Lanka Army, ICRC spokesman Harasha Gunawardene said.
Earlier today, the ICRC escorted officials from the examination department who transported admission cards and other relevant documents in connection with the forthcoming G.C.E.O/L examination, to the LTTE held regions of Vanni, from Mannar , Mr.Gunawardene said.
On their return journey, the opportunity was taken to bring four seriously ill patients to Mannar, he added.
