Bomb discovery forces evacuation

A powerful bomb was disovered this morning around 10.30 in the Ceylinco Towers in downtown Colombo, Sri Lankan Police sources said. The building has been evacuated and it is being being searched by bomb squads, they said.

People have also been asked to leave the hotel nearby.

The powerful explosive device, according to the Police, was located in the top floor of the high rise building.

The newly built Ceylinco Towers is on the Galle road in downtown Colombo close to the Temple Trees, the official residence of the Sri Lankan President who is now abroad.
