Shell wounds three

A mother and two of her children were injured when their house close to the Sri Lanka Army camp at Murakkoddanchenai, about 25 km. north of Batticaloa town, was hit by shell Sunday evening. Sri Lanka Army sources said the shell was fired by the Liberation Tigers.
The injured have been taken to the Batticaloa Hospital.
Meanwhile two Sri Lanka Air Force helicopters bombed and targets in the Ariyalai-Kolumbuthurai area in Jaffna around 9 p.m. yesterday residents said.
Details of damages were not known. SLA sources said the helicopters attacked Liberation Tigers who tried to cross the Jaffna Lagoon.
