Student representatives of the Vasavillan Madhya Maha Vidyalayam in Jaffna have notified that the boycott protesting the arrest of one of their fellow student, Priya Sriskandarajah, by the Criminal Investigating Division (CID) will continue from Monday.

The school boycott entered the second day on Friday.

The CID branch also arrested Priya's mother and her brother and have taken the three to Colombo.

Students in several other schools in the Valikamam Second District also began the boycott yesterday in support of their fellow students in Vasavillan Madhya Maha Vidyalayam.

Meanwhile, Ganeshalingam Gajendran, a student at the Vasavillan Madhya Maha Vidyalayam was arrested and questioned by the Sri Lankan Army (SLA).

The SLA soldiers manning the checkpoint near the Urumpirai Katpakapillaiyar Kovil arrested Gajendran yesterday and released him only after questioning him for several hours.
