Bomb hoax delays international flights

Several flights from the Colombo's International Air Port were delayed today after authorities received an anonymous call warning of a bomb planted on a London bound Air Lanka flight, UL 503.

Airport authorities evacuated about 350 passengers and searched the plane for the bomb. However, it turned out to be a hoax, officials said.

UL 503, scheduled to leave Colombo at 11.45 a.m., took off three hours later, according to officials.

Airport officials said all flights which were scheduled for take off after 11.45 a.m. were delayed by an hour.
