Four Jaffna residents arrested

Unidentified personnel from the Sri Lankan Army arrested 4 people at their homes in Gurunagar in Jaffna, on two separate occasions, last night and Friday night

The persons arrested last night have been identified as Thevathas Suresh, 29 and Pathmaseelan Colin, 25.

M. Mariyathas, 29, Cyril Selvam, 31, were both arrested on Friday night.

Residents of the area said that a group of 20 persons from the Army, dressed in black and faces covered, had come to the area and arrested the 4 persons at their homes in the coastal suburb of Jaffna.

The parents of the arrested persons have appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Jaffna to help trace them.

The parents have also met the army officers of the Gurunagar camp to find out about their children.
