Three youths arrested

Three youths were arrested during a combined search operation by the Sri Lanka Army and police in the Mutur Town area in the Trincomalee District yesterday residents said.

The area was searched following frequent attacks by the Liberation Tigers in Muttur and its suburbs in recent days, security sources said.

Three Tamil youths-two from Menkamam and one from Sampoor, villages in LTTE held areas were taken into custody.

The youths were brought down to Trincomalee town for further interrogation the sources said.
