Fisherman killed in air attack

A fisherman was killed and two others wounded in an air attack by Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) kfir jets in Pooneryn region, around 2.30 p.m. Saturday the Voice of Tigers (VoT) radio said in its news broadcast this morning.

The radio said the jets had dropped 4 bombs at Poonthoddam, a fishing hamlet south-east of Pooneryn.

Asha,47, father of four children, died on the spot. He was a displaced from Myliddi in Jaffna. He was living at Ampalavanpokkanai in Mullaithivu, according to the radio.

Emmanuel,55, and another fisherman were wounded in the air attack, the radio said.
