[TamilNet, Monday, 04 June 2001, 18:26 GMT]
The International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) conducted a dissemination program for the members of the Liberation Tigers in Batticaloa district on Saturday. "About 70 male and female members participated in the session", said an ICRC spokesman.

"The session focussed on the basic principles of the rules of behaviour in combat followed by questions and answers on the role of ICRC in the region and in Sri Lanka", he added.

Delegates from the ICRC Batticaloa Sub-Delegation and a Dissemination officer from ICRC Colombo Delegation were present.

"The ICRC conducts such dissemination programs to all parties to the conflict. Last month the ICRC sub-delegation in Batticaloa conducted dissemination programs to government security forces in Amparai, Batticaloa and Polonnaruwa districts", said the ICRC spokesman.
