Soldiers in murder case remanded

Six Sri Lanka Army soldiers allegedly involved in the murder of a young farmer, Arunasalam Chandramohan at Sithaandy, 24 kilometers north of Batticaloa were remanded till 7 August, when they were produced in court by the Eravur Police.

The soldiers allegedly shot and killed Chandramohan on August 9, last year and took away his head, according to witnesses.

The soldiers were arrested after they were identified by a fourteen year-old witness in an identification parade held before the Batticaloa court in December last year.
