Sri Lankan soldiers maimed in the war against the Liberation Tigers Wednesday marched in downtown Colombo in support of the current peace talks to end the island's conflict. They handed over a memorandum to Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
The Police, however, barred them from going to official residence of President Kumaratunga to hand over the memorandum urging her to strengthen the peace process towards a speedy settlement.
The march was organised by the Association of Disabled Ex-Service Personnel.
