The Tamil Rehabilitation Organisation (TRO) in Trincomalee has decided to launch a scheme called 'Grama Dhrasanam' (Village Vision) in the district, giving priority to the rehabilitation of the displaced families. A decision to this effect was taken at its directors' meeting held Tuesday.
The main objective of the scheme is to identify the urgent needs of the Tamil speaking people in the Trincomalee district and to fulfil their requirements effectively, said the co-ordinating secretary of the TRO, Mr.K.Mathavarajah.
The 'Grama Dhrasanam' (Village Vision) scheme will give importance to rehabilitation, pre school activities and mother-child nutritious programme.
Under this scheme first preference will be given to the villages, Kanniya, Illupaikulam, Aththimoddai and Sixth milepost area in the Trincomalee district, he said.
