Security tightened in Colombo

Inpector General of Police, T.E.Anandarajah, told the press in Colombo Wednesday that additional security measures are being instituted in Colombo following the killings of intelligence officers.
Sri Lanka police and Special Task Force (STF) soldiers are being deployed to increase spot checks, the IGP said.
Additional check points are also being introduced, the IGP added.
Meanwhile, in a special meeting held at the Defence Ministry premises Monday afternoon it was decided to provide additional security to intelligence officers, John Amaratunge, Minister of Internal Affairs.
Minister of Defence, Tilak Marapana, Commanders of armed forces and the IGP participated in this meeting.
