Shelling causes panic

The Sri Lanka Army (SLA) shelled Gurunagar in Jaffna town from the Palaly SLA camp around 8.45 p.m. last night said sources in Jaffna. Though no one was injured, there was panic among the residents of the area.
This is the third time in the past two weeks where the SLA has shelled the coast off the Jaffna lagoon from Palaly to prevent Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) landing in the area.
Meanwhile an unidentified youth from Atchuvely, was brought to Jaffna hospital with gunshot injuries around 12.00 noon today said sources in Jaffna.
