Gunmen kill two persons in Muttur in separate incidents

Unidentified gunmen shot dead two persons in Muttur, south of Trincomalee district within two days in separate incidents, police said.

On Sunday early morning a fifty six year old former police sergeant L.Rilvan was shot dead while on his way from home to his boutique and now working as a police informant. Six bullets were found on his body, Muttur police said.

On Monday early morning a Tamil youth Gunam Subaraj aged twenty-one was shot dead while asleep in his house. The deceased was a labourer engaged in construction work. The reason behind this killing is not yet revealed, police said
