Conference on Eastern rural development held

A conference on rural development and progress for the Batticaloa district was held Thursday at 9:30 am at the Kannankuda Maha Vidyalayam, sources in Batticaloa said.

The divisional secretary for Vavunativu, Mr. S. Srisangar, chaired the conference.

Batticaloa-Amparai political head of the Liberation Tigers, Mr. E. Kousalyan, the Deputy political head, Mr. Kirushan, head of the Treasury division, Mr. Nizam, the political head for Kudimbimalai-Koddam, Mr. Jeya, The Batticaloa Chamber of Commerce Chairman, Mr. Rajan Satyamoorthy, Mr. Thambiah of the Eastern University, Rural Development officers, and a large number of the public participated at the conference.
