The Jaffna Magistrate Mr.R.T.Viknarajah Tuesday ordered for an identification parade on Wednesday in connection with the alleged assault on Mr.Ruwan Chandrasekara and his associate Mr.S.Feroz of the Jaffna regional office of the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) by a group of Jaffna policemen, legal sources said.

Jaffna Magistrate made this order on a report filed by Colombo Police Headquarters official Mr.A.Pathmasiri Munasinghe after a top-level investigation into the alleged assault following representation made by the Chairperson of the HRCSL in Colombo, the sources said.

The Magistrate further ordered the Jaffna district Senior Superintendent of Police S.Wanaguru to bring all 46 policemen who were on duty on the day of alleged assault on HR official in the Jaffna Police Station that took on September 27th in a covered vehicle to court and hand over them to prison officials, the sources said.

The court also noticed Mr.Ruwan Chandrasekara, Jaffna regional co-ordinator of HRCSL to be present Wednesday to identify those policemen who allegedly assaulted him and his associate when they went to police station to inquire about a arrested youth, the sources said.
