Police constable injured in Murunkan gunfire

A police constable was injured when unidentified men Wednesday evening around 7:10 p.m. fired at police sentries in Murunkan police division, police sources said. The injured officer, identified as Premachchandra, was immediately transferred from Mannar district hospital to Anuradhapura, hospital sources said.

Meanwhile, the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) Wednesday morning recovered a live claymore mine placed along Thalvupadu road aimed at the SLN personnel from Sunny Village SLN camp, security sources said.
