Tamil youth shot dead in Akkaraippattu

The body of a youth with gun shot wounds was discovered by Akkaraipattu Police at Panankadu junction in Alayadivembu area, 9.30 a.m Thursday, police sources said.

The diseased, Samithamby Mohanathas, 17, of the same area, was abducted from his house around 10.00 p.m. the Wednesday night by unidentified gunmen, who shot him dead and dumped his body by roadside, Akkaraippattu Police said.

The body was taken to the Akkaraippattu Base Hospital and after the inquest was handed over to the relatives in the evening.

Akkaraippattu town is in Amparai District, 80 km south of Batticaloa.
