Swiss Tamils May day rally highlights State opression in Sri Lanka

Hundreds of Swiss Tamils participated in the May day rally held in Zurich, starting at the Central platz near the Main railway station and ending in Helvetia platz, sources in Switzerland said. Tamils joined the multi-national labor organizations, and liberation groups in the rally.

Participants distributed leaflets written in English and in German describing the history of the Tamileelam struggle and the details of State oppression in Sri Lanka.

At the conclusion of the rally different organizations assembled at the allocated spots near the Helvetia Platz.

Mr Albert, Head of the Tamil Cultural Organization, addressing the participants said diaspora Tamils will participate with renewed vigor in the Tamils fight for self-determination, and recent international actions will in no way dampen the freedom fervor of Tamils in Europe and elsewhere.
