Two children who were reported missing after the arrest of their mother have been now located in an orphanage near Nugegoda, a suburb of Colombo city, sources said.
Nadarajasunderam Ketheeswaran (11), Nadarajasunderam Tharsini (9) are the two children who were reported missing by their mother, Nadarajasunderam Maheswary (42), after she was arrested by the Mount Lavinia Police on April 25 last year and detained at Welikade prison. A complaint was made to the Organisation for Human Dignity in Colombo in February this year. A spokesman for the organisation said that the children were located at an orphanage near Nugegoda and arrangements are underway to send the children to the LTTE controlled area in the Vanni to live with their father. The official said when they located the children and tried to make a conversation in Tamil, the children had said "Themala amathakavuna" ( Tamil forgotten) in Sinhala. This is because the children had been living amongst Sinhala speaking children and people, the official added.
