Family man reported missing in Jaffna

A family man from Maanipaay Veethi, Aanaikoaddai in Valikaamam is reported missing since Monday, according to complaint registered by his wife with Jaffna Human Rights Commission Wednesday.

The man reported missing is Velauthapillai Uthayasooriyan, 42.

Uthayasooriyan left home Monday to visit his relatives in Nalloor.

He was last seen on Changkiliyan Veethi in Nalloor and he may have been abducted from there, his wife said in her statement to HRC.

Incidents of persons going missing are again increasing in the peninsula.

On 3rd September, Natkunaseelan Mayooran, 24, from Mathavadi in Koa’ndaavil East, had gone missing after leaving his home to Nalloor temple, his mother complained to HRC Jaffna Tuesday.
