Computers stolen from school in Ampaa’rai

Unidentified persons broke into Sri Ramakrishna Maha Viththiyaalayam in Akkaraippattu police division in Ampaa’rai district Sunday night and made away with seven computers worth 0.5 million rupees, according to complaint made by school administration to police. Robberies at gun point have increased lately in the police divisions of Kalmunai and Akkaraippattu in Ampaa’rai district, sources in Kalmunai said.
Police took into custody the watcher who was on duty Sunday night at the school on suspicion and detained him for interrogation. The robbers had broken into the computer building of the school which is located in Aalayadiveampu Education Zone. The police are investigating into the robbery with the help of sniffer dogs but no one has been arrested yet. Police have decided to cancel all identity cards issued to certain persons who had been appointed as members of Civil Security Groups on discovering that these persons have used their identity cards in some cases of robbery.
