Sea submerges Vadamaraadchi East coast

Sea along the coastal areas of Vadamaraadchi East in Jaffna peninsula Saturday submerged the northern side of Naakar Koayil-Maruthangkea’ni road due to foul weather and persisting rain. Local fishermen had already brought their boats and fishing nets to the shore while fishermen in the peninsula did not go to sea for fishing Saturday and Sunday due to prevailing adverse weather conditions, sources in Jaffna said.

No loss of lives has been reported but some of the valuable boats and fishing nets brought to the shore in Uduththu’rai, Aazhiyava’lai areas in Vadamaraadchi East coast had been drawn into the sea by receding waves.
