Breakaway EPDP faction said threatened

The two breakaway MPs of the EPDP, K.Rameswaram and K. Ramamoorthy, lodged a complaint with the Jaffna police this afternoon that they had been surrounded and threatened by fully armed cadres of the EPDP.
They say that they coming out of the SLA’s 51-2 Brigade headquarters after a discussion with the Jaffna town commander, Brigadier Susantha Mendis, when they had been surrounded and threatened at gunpoint by a group of EPDP members. The Jaffna town police have notified the EPDP that it should produce all its cadres involved in this incident at the police headquarters for an inquiry tomorrow. The Rameswaram brothers are contesting the local government polls as an independent group in two Pradesha Sabhas in the islands off the Jaffna peninsula.
