Curfew in Mutur after Muslims attack four Tamils

Police declared curfew in Mutur, south of Trincomalee, from Sunday noon after four Tamils were attacked and injured by Muslim mobs. Superintendent of Police for Trincomalee Mr. Daya Samaraweera told that the curfew would extend till Monday 6 a.m.
Two Tamils waiting for the ferry to Trincomalee at the Mutur Jetty were attacked and injured by a Muslim mob Sunday morning, Police said. Police said that two Tamils from Mallikaithivu were assaulted and injured by Muslim mobs on Saturday in Mutur town. Mallikaithivu is a Tamil village south of Mutur town west of the coastal road to Batticaloa. Later a lorry was set on fire by unidentified civilians near Mallikaithivu Police said. The two Tamils attacked at the jetty were rushed to the hospital in Trincomalee.
