Malaria patients die in Vanni hospital

The Mallavi hospital treated 9064 patients suffering from Malaria during the month of January this year said medical sources in the Vanni. Of these 10 patients died, 364 had to be warded and 8700 received treatment in the OPD.

Altogether 22804 patients suffering from various ailments received treatment in the Mallavi hospital during January.

Of these only 1259 patients could be warded for treatment said the sources.

During the month, 9 children under twelve years died of Malnutrition and other illnesses they said. There was only one death caused by septicaemia in January.
