LTTE to close commercial vehicles section on 30, 31 December

The heavy commercial vehicles section of the Liberation Tigers’ customs at the Puliyankulam entry point, 20 kilometres north of Vavuniya, would be closed on the 30 and 31 December, Mr. Daya Master, the LTTE’s media co-ordinator, told TamilNet Monday. He said that the Finance Division of the Liberation Tigers had decided to close the heavy commercial vehicles section of its customs department due to year-end work.

However, the heavy commercial vehicles section of the LTTE customs will make special arrangements for clearing perishable goods, mainly vegetables, ice blocks, and eggs on 30 and 31 December at the Puliyankulam entry point, the Finance Division of the Liberation Tigers announced Monday, according to Mr. Daya Master.

The LTTE customs at Puliyankulam will also do the needful to ensure the smooth transport of newspapers through the entry point on 30 and 31 December, the LTTE Finance Division said.
