Two highly decomposed bodies recovered in Jaffna town

The Jaffna Police Friday evening recovered highly decomposed bodies of two men from the drainage located behind the Windsor Theater in the heart of Jaffna town. One body was identified as that of a jeweler, Nadarajah Sathiyalingam,43, of Vannarponnai; the other body was not identified till Friday night, sources said.

The bodies were handed over to the mortuary of the Jaffna Teaching Hospital. Mr. Sathiyalingam was reported to be missing from his home since April 12 this year, police said.

According to medical sources, severe cut injuries were found on the bodies of two persons. The Police recovered the bodies on a tip off by a passerby, sources said.

The Jaffna Police sources said the two persons had been killed and dumped in the drainage.
