Thuraineelavani GCE (O/L) students honored

Students from Thuraineelavani, 29 km south of Batticaloa town, who sat for the GCE (Ordinary Level) Exams in 2003 and obtained excellent grades will be honored Sunday at the Thuraineelavanai Maha Vidiyalayam, sources said.

The event has been organized by the Social, Educational and Economic Development Society (SEEDS) in Thuraineelavanai.

Mr. V. Kogulan, an engineer who heads SEEDS will preside over the event. The Zonal Deputy Director of Education for the Paddiruppu division, Ms. Naguleswary Pullainayagam, will be chief guest. The treasurer of SEEDs, Mr.K. Yoganathan, said that a scholarship scheme will be inaugurated at the event for the benefits of the students of the village.
