Sri Lanka President invites TNA for discusssion

Sri Lanka's President Ms Chandrika Kumaratunge Wednesday invited the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) for discussion. The TNA parliamentary group, which met Wednesday afternoon decided to accept the invitation. The discussion between the President and Tamil National Alliance have been fixed for Thursday night 8 p.m., TNA sources said.
The TNA delegation will comprise all the 22 parliamentarians, TNA sources said. The is the first time the President of the country is going to meet a TNA delegation after two and half years since the formation of the TNA. TNA delegation will give first priority for the establishment of the Interim Self Governing Authority (ISGA) submitted by the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) during the discussion with the President, TNA sources said. The TNA delegation will also stress the urgent need of restoring normalcy in the northeast and the immediate removal of high security zones in the northeast enabling the resettlement hundreds of thousands of internally displaced families now languishing in refugee camps and welfare centres.
