[TamilNet, Wednesday, 09 June 2004, 17:17 GMT]
Jaffna District Consortium of Civil Organizations (JDCCO) Wednesday announced that it has postponed its protest march scheduled to be held on Friday (June 11) for June 17 Thursday, civil sources said.
JDCCO organized this protest march putting forward following four demands:-
- The murders of Tamil patriots in the East to be stopped.
- Immediate stoppage of violence against plantation Tamils
- Impediments for the resumption of normal life to be removed.
- Refugees in the North East should be allowed to resettle in their lands
Now the JDCCO has decided to hold this protest march next week taking into consideration the current political crisis in the south and to make necessary arrangements to hold the march on a grand scale.
