CWDR opens new Secretariat

Centre for Women’s Development and Rehabilitation (CWDR) opened its newly constructed Secretariat building in Kilinochchi Tuesday, sources in Vanni said. Director of CWDR, V.Sutharshini presided the opening ceremony.

Mother of Captain Valarmathy and Major Nathan, Ms Lilly Regina and "Annai Illam" Director Father Reginald lit the ceremonial flame. Head of LTTE Women's Political Wing, Thamilini raised the Tamil Eelam flag.

Ms.Claudia from International Labor Organization (ILO) cut the ribbon and opened the new building.

Ms.Sutharshini, Thamilini and Father Reginald spoke detailing the services in developing employment skills CWDR has rendered and planning to deliver to NorthEast women.

Representatives of several international organizations, including UNHCR and UNICEF participated in the ceremony and spoke commending the work done by CWDR to needy women in NorthEast.
