Major General Sunil Tennekoon meets Jaffna Bishop

Major General Sunil Tennekoon, Jaffna area commander of the Sri Lanka Army (SLA)
met with the Jaffna Bishop Most Rev.
Thomas Soundaranayagam at the Bishop's House Wednesday evening around 4.30 p.m. and discussed in detail on
allowing prayers in churches which are located in the high security
zones in the Jaffna district, sources said.
Sources say that Major General has given permission to hold monthly mass
in the Vasavilan, Ottakpulam St. James' Church which is located in the HSZ. Discussions centred on allowing religious observances in other churches,
which are located in the HSZ, also took place sources said. Lt.Colonel Udawatte accompanied Major General in the talks, sources said. This was Major General Sunil Tennekon's second visit to Bishop's House. Talks between Major General Sunil Tennekon and Bishop Thomas
