North, South youths meet

Forty youths from the North and about 20 youths from the South are participating in an event labelled "Time to heal the wounds of division" organized by the National Council of YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association) from 24 September, Friday, to Tuesday, in Jaffna, civil sources from Jaffna said.
Youths from both genders are taking part in the programme. Main segment of the event includes visits to several sites that are central to the conflict and its consequences, organizers said. Youths, as part of this exposure programme, will visit,
- High security zone
- Refugee camps
- Fishing villages
- Rural villages and farmers
- Area uncleared of mines
Second phase of exposure visits include, LTTE cemetery, Nallur temple, Kittu park, Chemmany graveyard and Jaffna Cathedral. The event concludes with a session the theme "Sharing the experiences of exposure programme" with Rev. Father Lalith followed by a discussion on "Positive elements in the ceasefire agreement and peace process towards a final solution, political security, cultural and human rights situation," sources said.
