Cultural Hall costing Rs.8m planned for Jaffna

Jaffna Municipal Council Commissioner, Prof.K.Gunarasa, told the press that plans have been finalized to build a Cultural Hall in the council owned land opposite to Subramaniam Gardens at a cost of Rs.8m, media reports in Jaffna said.

The two story building to located in the central part of Jaffna town will contain modern amenities, according to reports.

The full cost of construction of the building is being borne by Ministry of Cultural Affairs.

The foundation stone is expected to be laid during January 2005, and the Hall is scheduled to be completed before the end of 2005, according to Prof Gunarasa, media reports said.
