LTTE cadre dies of old battle injury

Captain Kadalventhan (Jeyasena Gemini) who sustained injuries in the attack on Vavuniya-Irambaikulam army camp in 1997 and was being treated for the last seven years died on November 28, sources in Vanni said. His body was buried with full military honours on 1st December Wednesday in the Chatty LTTE martyrs cemetery in Kayts in Jaffna district.

Earlier the body was kept in the Kayts Predeshya Sabah hall for the district residents to pay homage.

Later a condolence meeting was held presided by Mr.K.Selvam, Co-ordinator of the Tamil Resurgence Forum. Kayts PS Secretary Mr.S.Loganathan, Civil Organizations Consortium Secretary Mr.P.Kanagalingam and Commanders of Imran Brigade of the LTTE also spoke.

Following the meeting the body was taken in a procession led by music band and buried in cemetery with LTTE military honours, sources said.
