Grenades thrown at Batticaloa LTTE office

Unidentifed persons threw four hand grenades at the Batticaloa town political office of the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Tuesday early morning around 1.20 a.m., Batticaloa police said. Although few LTTE political activists were at the office, no one was injured in the attack, police sources said.

Explosion caused damage to glass panes according to Batticaloa police.

Police officers from the Batticaloa police rushed to the site and started initial investigation into the incident.

Police has tightened the security in the area, sources said.

Grenade attack on the business located in Vanniar Road Batticaloa and run by Tamil Eelam Liberation Organization (TELO) Secretary General Indrakumar Prasanna was damaged by a grenade attack, sources from Batticaloa said.

Police are conducting investigations on this incident.
