Center for Healthcare (CHC) calls for Coordination of Medical Teams

Center for Healthcare (CHC) a nationally registered and Kilinochchi based NGO in Sri Lanka has called for all visiting medical teams to coordinate their services to maximize their efficiency in regions of need. A visiting Australian Medical Team has successfully established a model for screening all patients in specific camps with individual healthcare cards issued to each patient / family so that all medical interventions are documented. The organisation is keen to continue to extend this model to all remaining camps in the region, CHC sources said.

Ideally, a minimum of two weeks stay is expected from the teams so that the cost and effort related to the deployment is justified. The team members are kindly requested to bring with them inflatable pillows, folding mats, mosquito repellant sprays and any additional personal accessories they might require. All lodging and meals are provided. Due to the extensive infrastructure damage in these regions, accommodation provided is very basic in nature, but, to-date has been adequate for the various medical teams. Please follow common sense on requirements for travel to the region and have full complement of immunisation including tetanus and malaria prophylaxis.

The CHC Medical Coordinator will coordinate the placement of the teams, currently exclusively required in the eastern province, so that continuity can be maintained and the regions serviced effectively.
