Batticaloa unemployed assured of jobs

The Eastern Province Unemployed Graduates Association has threatened to go on a fast unto death if immediate steps are not taken to give them employment, said sources in Batticaloa.

The Association had met in Colombo Douglas Devananda, leader of the Eelam People's Democratic Party (EPDP) and the Secretary of the Ministry of Education for the Northeast Province and requested them that jobs be given for unemployed graduates of the east.

The delegation was assured that immediate steps would be taken to find them employment, said sources.
