The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) Monday evening lodged a
complaint with the Sri Lanka Monitoring Mission (SLMM) in Jaffna that a
group of Sri Lanka Policemen had forcibly entered its Kodikamam Political
Office Monday morning around 10.45 a.m. and conducted search operation
without informing the SLMM, sources said.
Jaffna district political headquarters of the LTTE in its complaint further
said LTTE cadres who were present at that time in the Kodikamam office had
told a group of eight policemen who came by foot that they would not be
allowed to conduct a search without the presence of the SLMM monitors. However the policemen forced open the
doors of the LTTE office and the doors of the
room of the Kodikamam LTTE political head though he was not in the office at
that time and conducted a thorough search, LTTE said in the complaint. Later policemen had left the LTTE office by foot to the Kodikamam police
station. From there they got into a police jeep and had proceeded towards
Muhamalai, according to an eyewitness at the site, sources said. LTTE Kodikamam political office and the Kodikamam police station are
located along the Kodikamam-Kachchai road, sources said.
