LTTE political office in Batticaloa bombed

Political office of the Liberation Tigers in Batticaloa town was bombed by unidentified persons around 7.25 Monday night Police said.The office was not damaged. A Sri Lanka Police camp is at the Arasady Junction. This is the fourth attack on the office in six months, Police said. LTTE said paramilitaries working with the Sri Lankan armed forces are behind the attacks on their political office in the eastern town.
Sri Lanka Police gathering shrapnel from the grenade The assailants lobbed a grenade into the LTTE office near Arasady Junction in the eastern town, Police said. There is a Police sentry at the entrance to Mahajana College in front of the LTTE political office on Thamaraikerni Road in Batticaloa town. Mr. Anpumaran, head of the LTTE political division for Batticaloa town, said there were fifteen persons in the office at the time of the attack but that no one was injured. Truce monitors rushed to the scene to investigate.
