MBA students assist tsunami-hit Veloor villagers

Students following Management and Business Administration (MBA) course in the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM) of the University of Sri Jayawardenapura have provided assistance to tsunami-affected villagers of Veloor, Adambodai and Kuchchaveli to restore livelihood. They also helped to improve the management of tsunami shelters located in these areas, sources said.
Tsunami affected Veloor villagers are seen with sewing machines, bicycles, burners donated by MBA students of Sri Jayawardenepura UniversityAt an event held during the weekend in Nilaveli Tamil Maha Vidiyalayam, MBA students donated sewing machines, bicycles, gas cookers, burners and farming equipments to families who have lost their livelihood due to the natural disaster, sources said. Mr.A.Nadarajah, Divisional Secretary for Kuchchaveli presided over the function. Mr.V.Paramaguru, Grama Sevaka Officer of Veloor thanked the MBA students for having come all the way from Colombo to assist the tsunami-affected villagers. Mr.J.Arul Gnanaseelan and Mr.S.N.Jeyaraj represented the MBA students of the Sri Jayawardhanapura University.
