Humedica distributes boats to Vadamaradchy fishermen

Humedica, a non-governmental organization Friday handed over thirty one fishing boats to tsunami-affected fishermen of Vadamaradchchi east division in the Jaffna district. Mr.M. Thangavelu, President of the Vadamaradchchi Fishermen Co-operative Societies Federation presided over the event, sources said.

Fishing boats were distributed to fishermen of Mathanai (2), Chempianpattu (2), Thalaiyadi (2), Maruthankerni (4), Uduthurai (6), Aaliyawalai (5), Vettilaikerni (4), Kaddaikadu (4) and Chundikulam (2), sources said.

Mr.Nilavan, Head of the Sea Tigers for Vadamaradchchi East Division, Mr.Cader, manager of the Vadamaradchchi Fisheries Federation and Humedica officials participated in the event, sources said.
