Fourteen Tigers died in Chenkladay attack - VoT

Fourteen Liberation Tigers died in the attack on Karuththappalam SLA-PLOTE camp in Chenkladay yesterday, said the Voice of Tigers (VoT) in its morning broadcast. The radio said that the camp was overrun in 15 minutes and the Tigers held the camp for two hours.

Four SLA soldiers were killed in the attack. Weapons, including mortars and RPGs, were captured by the Tigers, said the Voice of Tigers.

The camp was burnt down before the Tigers withdrew, the radio said.



Meanwhile one member of the Liberation Tigers, Nilavan (Thillaimpalam Suthaharan, Kanthalai, Trincomalee) died yesterday in a clash with the SLA in Ambakamam in the Vanni, said the radio further.
