Tamil National Uprising Convention is to be held in Vavuniya at the Vairavapuliyankulam Children's Park on Wednesday where about one thousand delegates from civil groups in the northeast province are expected to participate, organizers of the conference said.
At the conclusion of the convention a nineteen-point proclamation will be made on behalf of the Tamil people in the province to inform the international community the political aspirations of the Tamil people who are still suffering from the two decade old war and seven month old tsunami destruction without basic facilities, organisers added. Tamil National Alliance (TNA) parliamentarians have been invited to attend the convention. Muslim delegates are also expected to participate in the deliberations, according to the organisers.
